As a mother of two, I understand that pregnancy and women’s health journeys are deeply personal. My approach is grounded in empathy, education, and collaboration. Ensuring my patients feel seen, heard, and involved in every step of their care.

Outside of medicine, I find joy in mosaic art, pottery, and travelling to experience new cultures and cuisines. Each of these passions reminds me that beauty lies in detail, something I bring into my work with every patient I meet.

More About Dr Bodasingh

Dr Suvarnah Bodasingh is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. She completed her medical degree (MBChB) and Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, followed by her fellowship with the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

Having trained and practised in both urban and rural hospitals across the province, Dr Bodasingh has spent over a decade caring for women through every stage of life. Her career began at Queen Nandi Regional Hospital, where she later returned as a specialist after completing her registrar training. During her time there, she played an active role in outreach programmes serving communities in Manguzi and Ulundi, and was responsible for overseeing final-year medical student training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Her years in the public sector have given her a deep appreciation for the challenges women face—whether it’s limited access to healthcare, lack of support during pregnancy, or navigating personal and cultural dynamics that influence decision-making. These experiences continue to shape the patient-centred approach she brings to her private practice today.

Dr Bodasingh is fluent in both English and Zulu, which allows her to communicate comfortably with a diverse patient base. Her work is guided by compassion, clinical excellence, and a commitment to empowering women with knowledge about their health—so they can make informed decisions with confidence and clarity.

Bringing Care to The Community

As part of our commitment to community care, we provide specialised services to outlying areas through monthly outreach visits. During these visits, patients have access to antenatal and gynaecological consultations, ultrasounds, and Pap smears, bringing quality care closer to those who need it most.
